While the Isotope Geology has a lot of great information, and starts off on the right foot, it lacks important details if this is to be used as an introductory text. I spent a quarter with this book, giving it every chance I could, but in the end, it wasn't useful. Primarily this is because the book assumes you already know many tricks used by geochemists. This means that you may never figure out how to solve examples or problems given by the book. It lacks introductory problem solving methods in isotopes and nearly never shows you how to solve example problems. This is bad if you learn by example.Isotope Geology also jumps around very much. It talks about U-Pb systems in one section, then suddenly, out of the blue, returns to the discussion many pages later making for a very fragmented read. The same can be said for Sm/Nd systems. I've bought many books on SharePoint, most of which usually barely contain more than little bits you didn't know. This book is hands down the most useful book I've bought! Many examples, easy to read, easy to find what you are looking for. Big fan, thanks to the Author!!!!

This explains how to do many useful calculations, formulas, etc. It also provides meaningful context and examples of why to select a solution as well as why some things cannot be done, offering workarounds when possible.

I discovered this book isn't complete with all the necessary formulas that can be used in SharePoint 2013. Specifically=IF(ISNUMBER(FIND("v",[Column1])), "OK", "Not OK") this formula takes place of "Contains" and will report if there is a "V" in Column 1. Found this one on the internet. I purchased this book hoping it would have MANY of the necessary formulas to be successful in SP however many of the formulas in the book are not useful for my specific need.

I still have one of his other books that has been my go to for years. The book will be an asset to developers, power users, admin, and designers. To obfuscate is to obscure “intended meaning in communication, making the message confusing, willfully ambiguous, or harder to understand” (Wikipedia) or “to make something less clear and harder to understand, especially intentionally” (Cambridge free online dictionary).This book is about ways of obfuscating and why to obfuscate, particularly in the context of digital collection of personal data and the lack of privacy that ensues.The first third of the book (Part One) is devoted to examples of obfuscation both in digital contexts and in other contexts. This is probably the most useful part of the book in that it provides a catalogue of obfuscatory activities that helps in analysing their nature. Having a set of examples makes it possible to see patterns in the types of activities, their goals and the resources that need to be brought to bear.The next third of the book (Part Two) provides an argument for obfuscation as a legitimate and morally defensible activity, particularly in the context of a world where we are often “unable to refuse or deny observation”. If people cannot escape being watched in the digital world, usually by those in positions of power, then individual actions as well as the creation of tools to obfuscate is a reasonable response. I found the argument for obfuscation convincing, but then I have long been in the habit of entering bogus phone numbers in those books that must be signed to gain access to buildings. What I learned from trawling her profile is that her undergraduate degrees are from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, where I work.What I particularly like (being an academic) is that almost one third of the book (the last third) is taken up with endnotes – lots of lovely links to explore the details of each example, and the arguments presented. I will have fun exploring some of those. I plan to use the book with my Master’s class in 2016 since a discussion of privacy issues forms part of the Trends in Information Systems course which I teach. I think it will be a good starting point from which to explore.My one disappointment with the book is that I was hoping for more direct advice to me as an individual as to which obfuscating activities I can, or ought to, take part in. The book is actually aimed more at someone designing software or some other “program” of resistance. The opening line promises to “start a revolution”. I was left eager to join the barricades, but not quite sure where to find them. Perhaps an individual’s guide will follow?

I bought this book really wanting to love it, and luckily I did.Overall it is a light and breezy read, less than 100 pages in length. The arguments the book presents are straightforward, and while often boiling down to "It depends", the authors do make a good effort to explain what it depends upon. The language used in the book is clear and accessible, not requiring frequent trips to the dictionary. The sadness at quickly arriving at the book's end is offset by the wealth of endnotes and a bibliography that should keep me engaged in the topic for some time.As a call to arms, it might be faulted being a bit meek. But then again, it is about attempting to address an imbalance of power and a lack of polemic maybe it's strength.

This is needed as former CIA and NSA director Michael Hayden admitted that metadata is used as the basis for killing people.The authors note that even for sites like WikiLeaks that use encryption, it still doesn’t always allow for anonymity. For example, if an adversary would perform traffic monitoring on a site, even though they may not be able to read the data, they could monitor what is being submitted to the system. Adversaries could also draw inferences as to what was transmitted based on the data sizes and other metadata.To obviate that, WikiLeaks developed an obfuscation script to produce false signals. In the case of WikiLeaks, they were not trying to stop data mining or ad blocking, rather they simply sought to conceal the movements of some of its users.Rather than just focusing on the technical issues, the authors also write of the ethics of obfuscation. They candidly admit that it's nearly impossible to avoid charges of dishonesty when the aim of obfuscation is to mislead and misdirect.Some of the tools detailed include TrackMeNot, a lightweight browser extension that helps protect web searchers from surveillance and data-profiling by search engines. For example, a seemingly innocuous search for “what is the most decadent cheesecake I can buy” in 2016, could be used to deny insurance in 2021, showing that the person had bad diet habits in previous years.Another tools is AdNauseam, which works in the background and clicks on every ad on a web page. This registers as a visit on the ad networks databases. As the data gathered shows an omnivorous click-stream, user profiling, targeting and surveillance becomes futile.Tools like these are good now, and can also provide a hedge against the future, as we have no idea what will be done with our data in the future.The authors attempt to create a fine line between oppressive surveillance and required surveillance. They admit to the reality that most of the free internet is based on ads. I've read several other books, and countless online tutorials and forum posts on this topic, and this book has all of that info and more. A well organized and useful book that includes detailed color photos of each step of a variety of methods and all of the steps to take in your growing efforts. It covers from total beginner to more advanced bulk methods, each thoroughly explained and photographed. All on high quality paper. An excellent book at a very fair price. If you want to explore and experiment, or if you're just curious, this is THE book to start with. And no, I don't know the author, and I'm only writing this review because I bought the book, was surprised at the quality of the content, and found it very helpful. As for the legality issue and the prudish US laws, you'll have to decide for yourself where you stand and how you feel about that.

I found the down to earth way of writing, which includes cuss words, gives a feeling of being spoken to by a buddy. If you're looking for friendly, easy going information which is to the point with no B.S. then this book is for you. I went from not knowing a darn thing about growing to knowing enough to successfully grow with just this book, so I'm happy with this purchase. I suffer from migraines, which is why I am interested in the contents of this book. It does touch on microdosing for cluster headaches or migraines, but the authors obviously do not have migraines so it's vague. But, I am now migraine free and this book was the tool that brought me there, so I absolutely recommend this book.

My buddy tried to tell me a while back I have magic mushrooms in my flower planter. I took pics, 6 months later after arguing again I decided to get a book on them. This book is strait up written for drug manufacturers. I read some reviews which said it is a great book for this and that. The shroom identification in here is about the size of a pamphlet you would get when you go out to a museum or something. Its all about growing. Great if you want to farm narcotics, make tea, eat them all the time, not so great if you want to ID anything. Was a total waste of my money. If you are getting spores sent out to your home and are going to grow, get this. If you want to know if mushrooms you have are psychoactive, this book is a complete waste.

I devoured this book in one sitting. As a retail pharmacist, I obviously choose a career path where it's easy to forget the clinical impact we can have on our patients. This book gets you excited again. It reminds the reader of the several problems caused by medications and suggests simple solutions. The author reminds pharmacists of the unique lens through which we view healthcare, and he demonstrates how to think clinically and solve problems involving medication management.The only obvious complaint I see to this read is the way information is presented. Topics, for the most part, are completely out of order. However, I find the lack of organization to be this read's greatest strength. The book is not meant to be a comprehensive review of pharmacotherapy, but rather to provide real world examples that help some individuals (myself included) remember medication "pearls." The brain craves variety, so I find the typical pharmacy read will often lose my interest before I learn anything of significance. With this read, not only does the author have my attention, but the anxiety of returning to the book is greatly reduced when later sections of the book don't depend on information presented earlier. Great job and thank you for providing the pharmaceutical community with this gem!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about this author`s clinical experiences in his pharmacy practice. The topics he presented were well written and relatable. His real life stories reinforce not only what is important to scrutinize, verify, and document, but why. This book is like having a favorite pharmacy preceptor, but without having a university sending a bill for the privilege. I can't wait to read more of his work!
